How to Backup Your Windows 7 Based Computer

Do not lose your important data and files . Do not be a victim of hard drive crash or virus / malware / spyware. You need to backup your files on a regular basis . It is a good habit to get into . My phrase is do not delay , backup today .First you will need to figure out where you have your important files. Most of the time will be in the Documents folder or on the desktop . Sometimes the data may have introduced elsewhere, and you can do a search for the files. Before you start making the backup, be sure to close all programs that contain the data you want to copy .
These are the basic procedures of how to backup Windows 7 with the built in backup utility .Click the Start button, select Control Panel , select "Back Up Your Computer" in the "System and Security" .Step 1 : Back up your computer .If you've never backed up this computer , click on "Create Backup" and let the wizard guide you . You may need to have administrator permissions to do this and if you are on a network , I hope that the network administrator has a backup system based on network. If you do not have administrator permissions, you can ask your network administrator to make backups for you.I recommend that you use a USB flash drive for backup and make sure you store on the USB drive into a physically secure location .Most users can let the wizard Windows choose which files and folders for backup, but now if you have some extra files , photos of places I had to look for, it's time to add them.Step 2 : Select the files and folders. You can also choose to schedule regular backups , which I definitely recommend daily backups.Depending your needs , select Daily, Weekly or Monthly. This is important to ensure that you have regular backups .Step 3 : Schedule regular backups .Windows backup set and get started. It take a while for the first time back up because of the fact that there are allot of files .Step 4 : Backup screen is displayed progress. The current backup in progressThis seems very simple. Do not risk losing your data , do not delay current backup . Do not delay , you do not want to lose valuable data , better safe than sorry. If you ever have to do a restore of your file ( s ) seeking a forthcoming article on how to restore the files. The backup wizard in Windows 7 is very easy to follow.

The second way
Almost all of us know someone who has lost the data - or have lost ourselves - but what many of us keep putting our next (or first) backup. Considering how easy it is, especially for computers with Windows 7, there is simply no excuse for that anymore. Here's how to get started and get back to good habits:
  1. Before you begin, take the time to think about your important files. Most likely lives in the standard folders (documents, email, etc), but if you have nothing hid away in a folder created, write it down for later. You also need to close all programs that are using the data you want to back up, like email clients.
  2. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, select "Back up your computer" to "System and Security".
  3. If you've never backed this team before, you need to click on "Create Backup" and let the wizard guide you. If you are not the administrator of this computer, you may need to seek help with permission (but if someone else is the manager, maybe you can talk to them in backups of your data).
  4.  It's best to save the backup to an external hard drive or a DVD if you do not mind the presentation somewhere memorable. (If your version of Windows is smart enough, you can back up to a network hard drive.
  5. Most users can let Windows choose the files and folders for backup, but if you have some extras collection that you noted in step 1, now is the time to add them.
  6. You can also choose to schedule regular backups, you should not do. Depending on your needs, select Daily, Weekly or Monthly. This is the step that makes life much easier and potentially much less stressful.
  7. Windows will immediately configure the backup and get started. It can take quite a while the first time, so make sure you leave your computer on until it's done.
  8. Finally, make sure your backups are copied. Make a copy of your first backup and save it somewhere outside of the facility, as the home of a friend or even a safety deposit box, and then switch out from time to time (more often is better, of course , but the first time is the most important). No such thing as too many backups!
